Hi I'm Sienna, and I'm addicted to sugar.
No but seriously, I have the world's biggest sweet tooth. I've always thought it was kind of funny, but my mom is really into health & wellness and recently decided to try Paleo (no wheat/dairy/sugar) for a couple weeks, so for laughs I added up how much sugar I eat on a daily basis. The number surprised me--and not in a good way. I've always been tiny so the amount of sweets I eat hasn't ever been a concern to me, but when I started to think about it, I have a real addiction to anything and everything sweet. I always eat something sweet for breakfast (yogurt, granola, pancakes, cereal), and have a minimum of two desserts a day (after lunch and after dinner). So, in an effort to combat my sweet tooth, I'm giving up sugar for one week--or at least I'm going to try.
I'm never going to give up sweets entirely, and after the week is over, I'll surely go back to my baking, choc-o-holic, Magnolia Bakery frosting loving self. I'm not doing it to lose weight or to alter my diet permanently. I'm more doing it to prove to myself I can, and to hopefully minimize my cravings so that I don't eat sugar in unnecessary places, like for breakfast or mid-day snacks, but rather enjoy it in my (once a day) dessert or when I'm traveling, at a restaurant, or feel like trying out a new recipe.
It's definitely not going to be easy--I'm one meal in and already craving my yogurt and granola, but I'll keep you posted on how it goes. If anyones given up sugar before and has any recipes/advice let me know!

I'm just like this. Being skinny is so deceiving to our own diet - I also don't realize how much sugar I eat until my boyfriend joins me. He always with holds on eating sweets (only one a day), and I'm always munching away on pancakes, and chocolatess. Ughh.. Maybe I should take a lesson from him.
I was never a big fan of sweets, chocolate and cookies and always skipped desserts at restaurants but being pregnant I started having a sweet tooth and I realized how much I missed:))

OMG we are twins!! i LOVE sweets. i gave up sugar for one week a few years back and honestly, it helped a lot with how much i consumed after that. im thinking about doing it again because i'm back to my old habits. good luck!!!
You'll have to do a post about how you feel after your week!
I think I would die if I tried this, but I know I need too!! My love of sweets is...out of control. So I understand completely!!
